RPT5004LoMastroLogoPres627july10Story Theatre (ages 4-5, K-1st Grade) This class teaches basic theatre techniques using Story Dramatization and Creative Dramatics. Using their imagination, the children create their own unique dramatizations of well-known stories and fairy tales. Assuming roles, the children interact in dramatic improvisations that demonstrate an awareness of physical and vocal possibilities. The story is “acted out” scene-by-scene with movement, music & visual elements added to enhance the children’s experience. An informal classroom performance will be held at the end of each semester. New material will always make this class appropriate for repeat students. This class is great preparation for Show Biz Stars.

Singing Stars (K-2nd Grade) Most kids love singing and are natural vocalizers. This class is a FUN way for younger children to acquire vocal skills and develop their ability to sing and stay in tune. New songs will be covered every few weeks to help children build a repertoire (a list of songs that they are prepared to perform). This will help tremendously when it comes time to audition. Our goal is to train the singers of tomorrow and prepare them to use their voices the right way! An informal classroom performance will be held at the end of each semester. New material will always make this class appropriate for repeat students. This class is great preparation for Song & Dance Troupe

Tiny Tots Ballet (Age 3 by March 1, 2011) This class gently introduces young children to the classroom environment through movement and dance play. Concepts are taught through movement games, songs and use of props such as: scarves, beanbags, ribbons, etc. Children focus on exploring their creativity while having FUN! The Parent/Caregiver participates with the child during the first 8 classes only, then it becomes a “kids only” class for the remainder of the year. Non-recital class.

Pre-Ballet & Tap 1 (Ages 3-4) Three and four year olds learn how to behave in the classroom environment and have fun while exploring movement. Pre-ballet skills are introduced through games, center practice and creative expression. Some concepts taught include: stretching the feet, jumping, balancing on one leg, arm movements, weight transfers, stretching, and moving across the floor. During 1st Semester, only Ballet is covered. 2nd Semester Tap is introduced and the class becomes half Ballet and half Tap. Only Ballet is performed in Recital.

Pre-Ballet & Tap 2 (Ages 4-5) Students at this age learn to further control their movements. They also begin to learn concepts such as patterns, partners, and opposites. Pre-ballet and introductory tap skills are taught through games, center practice and short dances.

ccalogoKinder Ballet & Tap (Ages 5-6) Kindergartners continue to build on the same concepts taught in the previous levels but in greater degrees of complexity. Primary Ballet and introductory tap skills are presented, while maintaining a fun, encouraging atmosphere. Curriculum is based on the Cecchetti Council of America's primary ballet syllabus.

Pre-Jazz (Ages 4-5) Basic dance positions and movement skills are introduced through games, center practice and short dances. Children develop musicality, coordination and have FUN while dancing to children's pop music. This class is great exercise for boys and girls!

Kinder Jazz (Ages 5-6) Introductory jazz skills are presented to kindergartners in an age appropriate manner, while maintaining a fun, encouraging atmosphere. Short routines are taught to children's pop music. Classes help students develop coordination and gross motor skills as well as provide an outlet for all of the energy these youngsters have.
